The Family Medicine Residency of Idaho relies on donors like you to fund our work. Your support will allow FMRI to continue to fund the various projects listed below:
Endowed Chair in Rural Family Medicine:
An Endowed Chair in Rural Family Medicine is a faculty position supported by the interest income on funds established from the endowment focused exclusively on building the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho’s rural training program. The goal of the endowed chair is to create a sustainable fund to provide for rural rotations by residents, fund research, and pay for the necessary travel to rural parts of Idaho to maintain training sites.
Idaho’s First School Based Health Clinic
FMRI in collaboration with the Meridian School District, Central District Health Department and Boise State University, College of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and Treasure Valley United Way are in the process of developing Idaho’s first School Based Health Clinic that will be housed at Meridian Elementary. SBHCs provide an optimal setting to foster learning readiness and academic achievement while giving children the resources they need to improve their health. The data is clear that linking education and health for low income students can improve school performance and reduce Medicaid costs. We have raised $175,000 of our $200,000. Your donation will help us reach our goal. We plan to have the clinic operational in January 2014.
Opening Doors: Saving Lives and Making a Difference!
The Opening doors Fund provides affordable and quality health care to our most underserved and vulnerable populations. Even though FMRI provides sliding fee discounts, we do not turn anyone away for their inability to pay! For many of our patients the sliding fee scale are still too overwhelming and when it comes to choosing between feeding your family or healthcare, too many are discouraged and do not seek the healthcare needed.
