Idaho’s First School Based Health Clinic
FMRI in collaboration with the Meridian School District, Central District Health Department and Boise State University, College of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and Treasure Valley United Way have established Idaho’s first School Based Health Clinic that is housed at Meridian Elementary. SBHCs provide an optimal setting to foster learning readiness and academic achievement while giving children the resources they need to improve their health. The data is clear that linking education and health for low income students can improve school performance and reduce Medicaid costs.
