 Rural Training Tracks

The "rural training track" (RTT) model was pioneered in the Northwest in the early 1990's as a means of giving residents a broad, procedurally-based, hands-on experience in rural family medicine during residency. Mounting evidence has shown that a newly-graduated doctor is more comfortable practicing in a setting similar to that of his/her residency experience. At FMRI we founded our first RTT site in Caldwell, Idaho in 1995, followed by Magic Valley in 2009.
