Paddy Kinney, MD | Boise Program
Patrick (Paddy) O. Kinney was born in Anchorage, Alaska on the night of the first snowfall of Winter - not long after his mother's labor was triggered by a full-term snowball fight. He spent his childhood in Alaska - initially in Fairbanks and then in Homer - a small fishing town where the road stops and the ocean begins. He majored in Exercise Science/Health & Human Performance at Oregon State University and went on to earn his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon - while traveling home to work as a deckhand on a commercial salmon seiner around Kodiak Island. He loves the outdoors, BBQ's, fresh snow, dark chocolate, and calm seas. Family Medicine was always his intent - but he attempted to distance himself through medical school in an attempt to remain undifferentiated. He loved everything, however, and thus is pursuing the broadest career path possible - with intent to return to a small town and take care of his people. He is blown away with the beauty of Idaho - and is beyond thrilled to be surrounded by such amazing residents and mentors - not to mention trees that bear fruit and turn colors in the Fall.
