Family Medicine Residency of Idaho
 Rural Training Tracks

The "rural training track" (RTT) model was pioneered in the Northwest in the early 1990's as a means of giving residents a broad, procedurally-based, hands-on experience in rural family medicine during residency. Mounting evidence has shown that a newly-graduated doctor is more comfortable practicing in a setting similar to that of his/her residency experience. At FMRI we founded our first RTT site in Caldwell, Idaho in 1995. As the success and popularity of the RTT model in Caldwell has grown, FMRI has begun looking for additional RTT sites. We are excited to announce that we will be matching our first resident for the Magic Valley RTT in 2009.
