Sarah Cox, N.P., C.N.M.

Sarah Cox has been a health care provider since 1980. She is a certified nurse-midwife and women's health nurse practitioner and has worked in women's health since 1994. She writes a regular column for the Journal of Midwifery and Women's Health on health education for women. She is also the author of several chapters in the new book Our Bodies Ourselves Pregnancy and Childbirth. She believes strongly in providing women with the best information so that they can make the best health care decisions for themselves.
  

Phoebe Gray, R.N., P.N.P.

Nursing degrees from Northern Kentucky State University and California State University, Fullerton.  Associate degree in theology from Way College of Biblical Research. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training through Office of Economic Opportunity and Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Joined Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in August of 2007. Working at the Fort Street office, seeing pediatric patients.

  

Chris Gunderson, P.A.-C.

Mr. Gunderson graduated from the University of Washington MEDEX physician assistant program in 2002.  His interests are in family and internal medicine and working for the underserved.  His healthcare career began in 1989 when he enlisted in the US Army.  He has worked as a critical care nurse, flight-paramedic, and combat medic.  His last 4-1/2 years in the US Army were spent as an instructor working in a combined 22-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit in El Paso, Texas and providing clinical instruction to physicians, nurses, and paramedics in advanced trauma and emergency medicine.  He holds specialty certification in surgery through the NCCPA.  He has held certification in Critical Care Medicine, ATLS, PHTLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.  Mr. Gunderson and his wife are excited about bringing their family back to Boise and raising their four children where they are both originally from.  Mr. Gunderson is excited to be apart of the Residency’s mission - training residents to become family physicians.  Mr. Gunderson is an avid musician and if you are out and about in the Boise area you may see him sitting in with one of the local rock-n-roll, blues or jazz groups in town. 
  

Michele Miles, P.A.-C., M.S.

Completed a BS in Medical Science from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV and certified as a PA in 1986.  Additionally, she completed her MS with an emphasis in Rural Health Administration in 1996. She joined FMRI in July 2004 and enjoys all facets of family medicine.  She presently serves as clinical instructor for the ISU PA Program, Boise Center.  She belongs to the NCCPA, AAPA, IMA and IAPA organizations.  Her interests include international travel and health care in developing nations.

  

Chad Sherwood, P.A.-C.

Graduated from Central Washington University in 1989 with a certificate in paramedicine.  Worked until 1997 as a paramedic.  Graduated in 1997 from the University of Washington School of Medicine Medex Northwest Physician Assistant Program and has worked as a Physician Assistant since then with a combined experience of Family Medicine, Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine and Emergency Medicine.  Has been employed at FPRI since February, 2003.  Is married and has 2 children, both of whom are very active in sports.  Loves boating whenever possible.

  

Anntara Smith, P.A.-C.

Anntara Smith is a Boise native and graduated from Idaho State University Physician Assistant Program in 2003.  She has been at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho  since April of 2007 and thoroughly enjoys the patient care provided there.  In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband and two dogs in the Idaho Outdoors!
 

  

Carrie Vieira, P.A.-C.

Graduated from Oregon Health and Sciences University Physician Assistant Program in Portland, Oregon in 2007. Carrie was born and raised in New Mexico, earned her B.S. degree in Biochemistry at the University of California Davis. Carrie joined FMRI in October of 2007 and is currently working at our Raymond Street Clinic. Medical interests include women's health, preventive medicine and working with refugees. Outside of medicine, Carrie is learning American Sign Language and practicing her Spanish. She enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking and is currently training for a triathlon.
  

Amber Vickers, P.A.-C.

Graduated from Midwestern University Physician Assistant program in Arizona in 2004. Amber was born and raised in Boise. She earned her B.S degree in Health Studies at Boise State University in 2000 and is Boise High School graduate. Amber joined the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in April of 2006 and is currently working at our Fort Street Clinic. Medical interests include Preventative Health, Adolescent medicine, Rheumatology and Sports Medicine.
