Family Medicine Residency of Idaho
 Medical Student Clerkships

Family Medicine Residency of Idaho (FMRI) offers clerkships in both Family Medicine and Pediatrics.  Upon approval, applicants will be allowed to rotate for a two-to-four week elective.

Students interested in Family Medicine clerkships at the FMRI must first meet the following criteria.

Medical Student Elective Rotation Criteria:

  • FMRI will accept third year medical students from the University of Washington School of Medicine or the University of Utah School of Medicine.
  • FMRI will accept fourth-year medical students from any U.S. medical school after items 1-4 below have been received and reviewed.
  • Due to the FMRI's affiliation with the University of Washington, non University of Washington students must first be approved by FMRI and then they must apply through the University of Washington visiting student clinical elective program.
  1. Applicants must write a personal statement on "The Medical Experience From Which I have Learned the most", to be no longer than 500 words.
  2. Applicants must send a copy of their scores from Part I of the USMLE or COMLEX exams. 
  3. Applicants must send a copy of their medical school transcripts.
  4. Applicants must complete the Medical Student Questionnaire
